Introducing: PCD Lifestyle Designs

Whether you’ve come here from the announcement post for more information/better pictures, or you’ve stumbled across this blog post from the get-go, we’ll keep the introduction on the shorter side. If you already read the mini-announcement in the server, this next part is a bit redundant, though.

We’re introducing a new overarching set of merch dubbed PCD Lifestyle Designs. With these collections, our goal is to provide aesthetically pleasing PAX Community Discord merch that can be worn in your day-to-day life without looking like a walking billboard. Right now, the plan is to drop a new mini collection seasonally. Each collection will take on a new theme, with several designs encompassing it. Before we go into any more details regarding how this will work going forward, let us introduce you to our first collection.

If you’re impatient and want to head right on over to the shop, you can click right here!

The Komyuniti Collection

Inspired by Asian streetwear (and a hint of retrowave), this new line up of designs mixes our original Paxter logo with these modern fashion design trends. In this first collection, we have three designs for you to choose from, dubbed GLITCH, TWENTY / TWENTY, and UNITY. All are available as shirts (TWENTY / TWENTY being offered in both white and black variants), with UNITY also being available in a pullover hoodie variant. You can check out all these designs right below!

All three of these designs (and their variants) are available now on our Bonfire page. Picking one up nets you some dope merch while also supporting us as a community, which helps us do more cool stuff at events (pins, panel prizes, etc). Oh yeah… that UNITY design is pretty dang intricate when you get up close and personal with it, so we figured we’d provide a better shot so you know what you’re getting into.

Before we head out, we want to give you a brief idea of how this new seasonal merch drop thing is going to work. Seasons happen quarterly (duh), so we’ll have new designs for you every 3 months or so. We plan to always release a season’s collection right before that season begins, that way you can rock your gear all Winter/Spring/Summer/Autumn long. We will, however, leave designs up until the very end of a given season, which means for every drop except this one, there will be a week or two where you’ll have two collections worth of designs to choose from. Pretty cool if you ask us. Each collection will have three to four different designs (plus some variations here and there) to choose from. If this sort of look ain’t your style, maybe the next collection will suit you better!

And hey, speaking of styles, there are SO many to choose from. Heck, there are even a dozen+ other types of streetwear aesthetics alone that we could go for, but if you ever have anything specific you’re interested in, feel free to use the #pcd-suggestions channel to make your voice heard! While we already have the theme for our Spring 2021 collection planned, we’d potentially be open to putting future themes up to a poll if there’s enough interest. As for now, we hope you enjoy our first lifestyle collection as much as we do.

Note from gfx— I wanted to just personally say that I genuinely hope you like what I’ve put together for this collection, even if it’s not your style. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while and didn’t know where to start, and now here we are. Our merch has always been pretty typical (not necessarily in a bad way) of what you’d expect from a community like ours, and I really wanted to break out of that this time around. Sometimes it’s fun to be a walking advertisement for PAX/PCD, but that’s definitely not an everyday sort of thing. The goal was to create designs that could blend in with your everyday wardrobe, and while the Asian streetwear look isn’t the thing for everyone, that’s why we plan to have varying styles for each collection. The amount of support these get will definitely influence how many of these we end up doing, so hopefully they’re appealing enough that some of you would like to support us in one way or another. Even if that doesn’t mean picking up a shirt or hoodie, sharing it around, or even just acknowledging/giving feedback it is a huge plus. Even if this isn’t received as well as hoped, I still have plans to create new designs for Spring (and most likely Summer) at the very least. To leave you with a little something, here is a teaser for our next collection.

CommunityCon: A Convention Outside of Melee Range

2020 has certainly been an interesting year thus far, and on behalf of the PAX Community Discord, we hope everyone and their families are doing well and staying healthy. That being said, we have something new to share with you. Something to provide some fun, entertainment, and smiles during this difficult time. CommunityCon is a convention… but from home! It probably sounds a bit weird, and you probably have a few questions, so we’re here to explain.

So you know that CommunityCon is supposed to be an event you can visit from home. We covered that! But what is it really about?

Due to so many events being canceled this year, with the chance of many more in the coming months being postponed or unable to happen, we wanted something that can fill that hole for con-goers… at least as much as possible! We know that part of the fun of events is walking around expo centers and interacting with people face to face; however, given the circumstances, we’re creating something that can still be a ton of fun while being exclusively online!

CommunityCon will share many aspects of your traditional in-person gaming event. While not all will be finalized for a few more weeks, we intend to have lots of panels for you to attend, games for you to demo, streams for you to watch, giveaways for you to enter, and tournaments for you to compete in! The event will be like most others, taking place over three days. Can’t attend Friday? Stop by on Saturday! This is just a peek of what we have in store for this event. More will be revealed soon!

We’ve actually already nailed down dates, and it’s soon. How soon? Well…

June 19th to 21st, soon.

As mentioned, the event will run across three days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Each day will have its own unique set of things to do, as well!

So, the specifics aren’t perfectly set in stone yet, and what we do know we’re not quite ready to share just yet, but we’ve given you a pretty good (vague) idea! What we CAN confirm is that we’ll be releasing a schedule a week or two before the event with all the details you could possibly need. This will include all panel and tourney times, demo information, and more.

Look out for specifics in early June! We may announce stuff sooner, but you’ll have to wait and see.

One billion dollars. Muahahaha.

Okay but seriously, the event is entirely free! And we mean for both attendees and “exhibitors”. CommunityCon is a celebration of games for both the ones who enjoy playing them and the ones who enjoy making them. We want to provide a place where fans of gaming of all types can have fun with like-minded people, panelists/streamers can share and interact with the community, and developers can showcase their games— all without the typical event fees.

Like other gaming conventions, there’s more than one way to be a part of it. There are attendees, and there are exhibitors. Let’s cover both!

AS AN ATTENDEE: All you need to attend is to grab yourself the ‘CommunityCon’ role. It’s that simple! As mentioned, this event is free entry. The reason we’re keeping it behind a role is to keep the activity down in the server for those that aren’t interested.

AS AN EXHIBITOR: We have multiple types of “exhibitors” for this event: streamers, panelists, and game devs/demo-ers. At the current time, we’re allowing the public to submit panel applications >here<. If you have an idea that you think would be fun to share with the community, feel free to submit it! If you are a game developer interested in showcasing your game, reach out to Andeh#0001 or myself (gfx#0001).

Have a question that wasn’t answered here? No problem! In the PAX Community Discord, there is a new channel called #communitycon-questions where we will be answering any questions you may have about the event.

Keep in mind, questions that are content specific will likely be unable to be answered until the schedule goes live!

It is important for attendees and developers alike to know that this event is not run by PAX/Penny Arcade/Reed themselves, but by the community that was built around it!

We look forward to hosting our first ever event of this magnitude, and I hope to see many of you there! We have lots of planning to do over the next few weeks and will have more to share as we get closer. We hope this will be a fun break from all the boringness and hardships that many of us are dealing with. See you in June!

Behind The Spoiler

Hello there, fellow PAX Community Discordian. It’s gfx here to bring you a pretty important and lengthy post regarding some design aspects of the PCD’s future. Most people aren’t fans of reading a huge wall of text, so I will also include a TL;DR at the bottom, but it would be great if you could stick with me for a few minutes of your time!

There’s a spoiler in #announcements that, if you want the intended reveal experience, you shouldn’t click until you finish this post (or the TL;DR).

I’m going to walk you through a bit of history before getting into the announcement itself. It’ll be a fun build-up, especially for those who have been with the server for a while as you’ll be able to see some interesting progression. As you read more and more, you may guess where things are heading, but regardless, I still hope it’s a fun little trip. Once again, if you don’t care about any of that, feel free to go straight to the TL;DR. I do warn, this post is a bit lengthy.

June 2017. The early beginnings of the PCD. The server began, as stated, in June that year. I believe I came along and joined very early July (as far as memory can serve), about 1 to 2 weeks into the server’s life. Why does that matter? Well, only soon after, this little fella was created:

PaxterIf you’ve only seen this as the icon of the server but don’t know much else, this is Paxter. He has essentially become our logo, mascot, lord and savior. He was designed with one main thing in mind: represent each PAX event in a fun and playful way. I feel that what we created as a community (since there was plenty of input at the time) was something fun and iconic for the server. As mentioned, though, there was lots of input. This was not the first design of what came to be ‘Paxter’. Time to share a little more history.

I don’t believe I’ve publically shared this, but I could be wrong. Keep in mind, not every step of this chart was shown to the community. A good half of these were simply back-end iterations of trial and error, seeing what would and wouldn’t work. Fun fact: the only reason Paxter has a mouth is due to received feedback that stated the hands mixed with the controller (pre-Switch) looked like some misshaped ball-gag. Ain’t that nice? Anyways, eventually the community, Andeh, and myself were satisfied with how Paxter had turned out, and the rest was history…

Until recently, of course.

August 2019. After contemplating with myself for a bit, I decided that Paxter’s design could definitely be better. There were a few key things I initially wanted to simply tighten up, so that’s what I began to work on. The main thing that stuck out to me for a while had been the headphones. Even from the beginning, they felt a little ‘wonky’. Originally I had thought this was fine, as it was (arguably) working with the rest of the design; however, when our other designer, CMYKMatter, stated some of the issues with them, it became more apparent how odd they really were.

Later in the month, I decided to take a stab at fixing the headphones alone. During this process I faced two challenges: (1) trying to change a design in a vector-based environment that wasn’t originally designed in one, and (2) trying to make the headphones look more like normal headphones, but not clash with the overall “cartoony” feel of the logo. And I am proud to say that after a few hours of hard work… none of it paid off! Let me show you one of the iterations:
On the left, you’ll see the headphones in a static position, and on the right is the headphones “formed” to Paxter. During this design process, it occurred to me that making normal headphones look normal on Paxter was going to be much more difficult due to how he is designed. At that point, the next thought was basically: “do we throw out Paxter and start from scratch?”

And the answer to that was no. But also yes? But definitely no as well. But… maybe? It was an interesting thing to figure out, but in the end, there was a new goal in mind. That goal was not to ditch Paxter and design a new logo. He has become a staple of this community we’ve all come together to form. Instead, I felt the goal was to ditch Paxter and design a better Paxter. One that held on to the same interesting and more iconic characteristics of the current logo, while ditching its underlying (and more obvious) issues.

Side note: just to list a few issues off to you from a design perspective so you don’t think it was all because the headphones were “a little too wonky”, there are also issues with:

  • Uniqueness; still using Discord’s Clyde as a rough (but still noticeable) base
  • Design modularity (i.e. not very versatile to be wearing/holding/doing many other things)
  • Visual clarity, primarily at small sizes

And a more personal opinionated critique: it didn’t have a very “modern” feel to me. Needless to say, between all of this, I felt I could do better now. And with that, I worked towards building a new, but hopefully familiar Paxter. One that I hoped the community would like, or at least come to like, a lot more. So come early September, over the course of several days, with a good amount of hours put into refining lines, adding several initial design options, and of course getting some helpful opinions and critiques from our other designer, Paxter “2.0” was born.

At this point, you can reveal the spoiler image in the Discord server.

So, all I will say about the new design at this point is as followed: I am very proud of how it came out, and I believe it to be a huge improvement over current Paxter. I know many of you may be unhappy or unsure about it at first because it is a change, but things can’t and shouldn’t always stay the same. I believe most of you will come to like the new design as I feel it has much more character to it, as well as many more possibilities.

While this guy won’t be debuting on the server till after PAX Aus and on merch or things of the sort until the end of 2019/early 2020, we’ve decided to give you this preview of him to hopefully get you acclimated with what is to come. We will be showing off what is coming and what is possible with new and improved Paxter in the weeks to come. But for now, thank you very much for reading this if you stuck around, and as always, thank you for your continued support of the PAX Community Discord.

TL;DR – Paxter, our Discord server’s logo/mascot, has had his share of design flaws. While he has been a great visual representation of the community, both with the colors of each PAX event to the fun and joyful nature of the character, his design has, as of late, brought me to try and fix some of his flaws. After realizing that fixes to the logo’s minor issues were hindered by greater underlying issues, a redesign was instead prepared. Paxter has been redesigned from the ground up to maintain the same spirit, but have fewer issues and become more iconic and versatile.

You should now reveal the spoiler image in the server.

The day after this post goes live, new Paxter will not be hidden behind spoiler warnings and a “reveal schedule” will be posted. We have a few things to show you and some finalizing before we’re ready to roll him out, so stay tuned for that and keep an eye out Tuesday afternoon for that, as it will likely be a silent announcement with no ping. Whether you read the entire post (which ended up being longer than expected) or just scrolled to the TL;DR, thank you for taking the time to stay updated with the server.

All the best,

Here Comes PAX East!

Ahhh it’s that time again. PAX East is just around the corner, and we’re incredibly excited. We’re just under three weeks away, and boy do we have a lot of planning left to do, and we’re sure some of you do as well. Nonetheless, now is not the time to stress about that, now is the time to share what we have coming up both before and during PAX East!

As most of you have probably heard, we’ll be hosting Game Night at PAX East! This marks one whole year of IRL Game Night events! That being PAX East 2018, PAX West 2018, PAX South 2019, and right back where it all started at this upcoming PAX East 2019. We’ve upgraded from the Arachnid Theatre to the Bumblebee Theatre, so be sure to come by and fill up the area with other PAX Community Discordians!

At PAX South, we dipped our toes in a slightly altered format from previous events, and we plan to fully commit to these changes for PAX East. Some things that are changing are: reduced trivia (it’s fun, but shouldn’t take up 50% of the night), new games (to be announced, likely not before the event though!), and a restructured ticket/prize system, more on that for the folks who attend the event.

ABOUT PRIZES: If you’re curious about what the prizes will be, we don’t have the exact things to share with you right now, but something we can say is this: while having a couple “grand prizes” was cool and all, we’ve decided to gear prizes less from one or two large, “generic” items (more on that in a second), but instead, a good handful of event-exclusive items, with our usual mix in of PCD/Discord merch. By generic, we mean things you can obtain outside of the event, no issue. A Nintendo Switch or a gaming mouse is definitely a cool prize, but (1) technically speaking, money aside, you can always get one and (2) only a small number of Game Night attendees can win such prizes. With our new selection of prizes, we’ll not only be able to have more winners for prizes that aren’t just shirts or pins, but also be able to give people prizes that can’t be found anywhere else. We hope you understand the change, but would also be happy to hear feedback on it in the server. Feel free to post your opinion about it in #pcd-suggestions on the Discord server.

We can’t wait to be back for another night of fun! Come join us Thursday night (March 28th) at 8:30pm in the Bumblebee Theatre to play games and win prizes! We have some pretty cool stuff in store as well for those that attend… you won’t want to miss it.

OH YEAH! As long as everything goes as planned, this will also be the first panel to be recorded (by us, not by PAX itself) so for those that can’t attend, you should be able to watch highlights a few weeks after PAX East concludes.

PAX Prep

We’ll be hosting another PAX Prep stream over on Twitch! There, we’ll be covering the do’s and don’ts of PAX East, with some helpful advice that’ll be particularly useful for newcomers. We’ll be live Sunday night (March 10th) at about 9:15pm ET. If you tune in live, you can feel free to ask any questions you may have as well, and we’ll answer them right then and there. See you then!

Badge & Pin Pickup

As it has been a tradition now for a while, anyone that ordered PCD badges or pins will soon be added to a private group of channels on the server. There, you will receive updates about when and where you can pick up your stuff during the show. Most of these meetups are relatively impromptu, so if you have issues attending any meetups on a specific day and you can’t attend for the rest of the event (or it’s Sunday late afternoon and you haven’t received your stuff yet), contact Andeh#0001 or myself (gfx#0001) on Discord and we can work out a time and place to make sure you get your stuff. Please try to be somewhat vigilant of the pickup channel prior to picking up your things! If you’re able to pick your things up early on, you don’t have to worry about it anymore for the rest of the event. Meetup locations usually last for about 20 minutes up to an hour or two, depending on the time of day. You can also pick up your stuff following the Game Night panel if you attend!

That about wraps things up before PAX East. If you have any questions or concerns about anything here, feel free to ping Andeh or me at any time and we’ll respond as soon as possible. We’re super excited to be back in Boston, and we look forward to seeing you all in just under 3 weeks!

But seriously… you won’t want to miss this Game Night panel. We have some really cool stuff brewing… ta-ta for now.

PAX Unplugged Incoming

Time sure does fly, doesn’t it? Feels like just the other day PAX Aus was ending…………. oh wait.

We hope everyone attending PAX Aus had an awesome time, and we apologize that the PCD doesn’t have a huge presence there (YET!) but that you still had a blast. With that being said, the second-ever PAX Unplugged will be going down in exactly one month from today! With that, we have some a just a few things we’d like to go over.

Shirts!

To continue the trend we started at West this year, we have some exclusive PAX Unplugged 2018 shirts for anyone and everyone to get their hands on! They’re available via the merch section of our site for $20. We hope you like them! Starting with South, we’ll be taking some suggestions for shirts going forward (South, East, etc.) to see what sort of unique designs the community can brainstorm, then us designers can mush together a bunch and make something that’s (hopefully) visually appealing. Anyhow, below you can see the nifty design for the Unplugged ’18 shirts. These won’t ever show up again, so you’ll only have around a month or so to grab one. This year’s shirt designs (well, the two we’ve done) have been very flat, 2D, and simplistic. Not sure if we will stick with that or not, but it’s worked out pretty well so far. Definitely lots more we can explore, hence why we’ll start getting some community ideas soon! Anyways… that’s a lot of words about shirts. Mooooooving on.

Also our classic PCD tees are only available for a couple more months (till the end of 2018), so if you’re interested in that, you can also find that in the merch section of the site.

Pins and Badges!

For those of you who ordered/reserved a pin and/or badge, we have some info for you regarding how to get your stuff. We tried a new system out at West this year that (for the most part) simplified things for everyone and made it a little more straightforward where you can get your stuff. Unplugged is much less hectic than West or East for now, so it should be even easier.

Sometime in November, you’ll be added to a private category called “PCD Event Pickup”. Here, you’ll be able to see pings of where I’ll (gfx) be doing little meetups for members to grab their things. If you can’t make any of the meetups and you feel you might not have a chance to get your things otherwise, feel free to ping me within the discussion channel (within this private category) and we can work something out.

This will go for people getting pins, paid supporter badges, or free community badges. We may have some extra free community badges lying around, so if you’re interested in one, DM me and I’ll be sure to add you to a queue for em.

If you have any other questions regarding this process or anything else, don’t hesitate to ping either myself or Andeh in server. More info will come a bit further into November.

That about sums up everything. If you still need PAX Unplugged badges, head over to this link right here. If you’re on the edge of your seat waiting for PAX East badges to go on sale, good luck to you. Thanks for being an awesome member of the PAX Community Discord! Your continued support means a lot to us, and without it, none of this sort of stuff would be possible. <3 See you all in Philly.

PCD at PAX West

Ahhhhh smell that? The crisp air of Seattle on the horizon. The beautiful blue sky over the buildings. What’s that? Smoke? You’re seeing smoke? Huh… that’s not right.

The PAX Community Discord is headed to PAX West in less than a week! Can you believe it’s here already? Couple of things to mention before we zoom on over there for an awesome weekend of fun.

Game Night Panel

If you somehow STILL DID NOT KNOW, you should (1), use those two white spheres in your head more often, and (2) continue reading this post. The PCD is hosting a Game Night Panel on Friday, August 31st and will be giving out not one, not two, not three, but FOUR grand prizes! What are those prizes, you may ask? That’s a secret………………… wait no it’s not. Click here to find the entire prize list posted on our Twitter. Now there’s no excuse for not coming! If you have a Friday badge, head on over to the Cat Theatre at 9:30pm!

Community Badge & Pin Pickup
Ordered a pin? Maybe you reserved a badge? I’m sure you’re probably going to want those, especially if you offered some of your hard earned dollars for em (thanks for supporting these community endeavors if you did!). So now the question is: where do I pick those things up? Worry not! Andeh and gfx will have a couple meetups each day so you can grab your stuff. Meet-up times and locations are TBD at the event, but we’ll be sure to ping @West with locations and post on our Twitter (which you should follow wink wink). Really reaaaallly can’t make one of those meetups? Ping one of us during the event and we’ll get back to you and try to arrange something.

Weather and Air Quality
Like always, it’s important to be prepared when going on any vacation. PAX is no different. Make sure to check the weather before packing so you have a good idea of what you’re looking at going into Seattle as far as temperatures and rain goes. Here’s something you might not check all the time, though: air quality. Due to some wildfires that have persisted in the north, some smoke has been making its way down into Washington. While things seem to be clearing up, it’s unknown what may transpire over the next few days. Be cautious! If you’d like to read up more about it and get some helpful links to monitor the air quality and preparation tips, Andeh wrote up a handy dandy little post about it over on the subreddit which you can click here to go directly to!

Alright, that just about wraps it up for the evening. PAX is just around the corner now; right under 7 days from the time this post goes live. Hope you’re all as excited as we are and prepared for four days of fun. See you next week!

PAX West In Sight

With only a little over a month left before PAX West 2018 kicks off, we have a few more announcements/reminders to send your way regarding various things about the server and events going on within it. Shall we begin?

First things first: PCD Merch! That includes shirts, pins, and badges. This isn’t just a reminder, but now deadlines are coming up. Let’s go one by one.
Shirts: The PCD West 2018 Shirt will be available until Friday, August 17th. After that, the design will be retired. Get one while you can!
Pins: Pin orders will be closing temporarily on Thursday, July 19th. If you definitely want to get your hands on one, order soon. We can not guarantee how many will be available after initial orders close. Orders will then open up several weeks later once more to those who would like to order from the remaining pool. This is for both West and Unplugged.
Badges: Looking to get your hands on a PCD Badge to rep at either PAX West or PAX Unplugged? Reserve one soon, as reservations will close Friday, July 27th to give sufficient time for the creation and ordering process.

NOTE: For those of you attending Unplugged, a part of the badges are slightly different since the event is focused around tabletop. Below you can see the small change. If you have a badge from a previous event, are attending Unplugged, and want the tabletop variant, feel free to reserve a new one for the event. If you don’t feel like donating to get a custom badge, no worries! Just reserve a free one.

TOURNAMENTS
We got lots of responses to our tournament survey (which you can still vote/add options to) and we’re happy to say that yes, tournaments will be happening in the near future! We’re still working out some of the details since these things take time, but right now it’s looking like the first tournament will be either Overwatch or Rocket League. While we work out the logistics (and prizes), you sit tight. We’ll have more info on that soon. Our goal is to have our first tournament before PAX West rolls in. We’ll see if we can make that happen. This first tournament will be sign-up based with a first-come first-serve policy. Future tournaments may have different ways of entering, but that’s still further down the road.

A New Challenger Approaches
Alright, not so much a challenger, but a new stream!  Starting in just a few weeks, we’ll be hosting a new live stream we’re calling “PAX Prep”. *cue splash art*
To give you the gist, the idea behind the stream is to discuss the upcoming PAX event. We’ll be talking about some tips we’ve learned along the way to make the most of your trip and event, discussing what we’re excited for, interacting with community members in the chat, and plenty more. We want this stream to be something a lot of people can enjoy, interact with, and hopefully even benefit from, so we hope you decide to join us! It should be a ton of fun. We’ll be announcing the date and time soon enough, but if you’re interested in the premise and want to suggest a day of the week or time of day to better your chances of being able to stop by, feel free to do so in the #suggestions channel within the server.

Thanks for reading this big wall of text. Tried to add some fancy images to hold your interest… did it work? No? Well it was a valiant attempt. We look forward to seeing you at PAX West 2018 in less than 50 days!

PAX West Incoming

PAX West is right around the corner! Badges have recently gone on sale, so it’s time for the PAX Community Discord to get a move on as far as preparations go. What does this mean for you, as a community member? I’m glad you asked!

    • If you’re looking to get a nifty community badge to show off that you’re a member of a really cool Discord server (cough… PCD… cough) you can do that now! Badge reservations are now open in the merch section of the site! We’ve condensed everything into one form, so if you want a free badge or a Community Supporter badge, it’s all in the same place.
    • In our website introductory post, we showcased the new version of our PAXter pin. He’s gotten a bit of an upgrade since the initial run, so feel free to check that post to get a nice look at it if you haven’t already. Anyhow, they’re now available for pre-order, also in the merch area. As a reminder they’re $4 a pin, and you have the option to have them shipped to you (US only), or you can pick them up at a future PAX event for no additional cost. There’s a handy dandy price chart now to hopefully make it easier to find out how much everything will cost, whether you want to pickup or have them shipped.

After our PAX East panel, we heard a good amount of you wondering if the IRL Game Night panels would continue, and the answer is… hopefully! Of course, very few panels are definitive to happen each and every year, or at each and every event. Most of the time it’s a gamble, although each have varying degrees of likelihood to get in, of course. We appreciate all the feedback we received about the first one and we have already been working hard behind the scenes to iron out some of the kinks. We hope to deliver an even more entertaining experience to those who attend the next one (fingers crossed another one happens!). We’ll bring more news on that front once we get it ourselves!

Lastly, we have one more piece of exciting stuff to announce before PAX West hits us in a few more months. Some of you may have noticed a few teases over the last few weeks/months about something West related. So what is that “something”? It’s a shirt! Not only is it a shirt, it’s a shirt anyone and everyone can get, although you may not want this specific one if you’re not headed to West (although you’re still free to get it if you want to!) as it’s been specifically designed for West 2018. This marks the beginning of doing something like this for us and we want to see what you all think of it! Below, you can see the design.

While maybe a little on the nose, we used the Space Needle as the very first design as a representation of the area West resides within. For future designs, we’d be happy to get some ideas for what others want to see, and even bring it down to a vote, similar to how the forum’s challenge coins work. For now, though, we wanted this to be a surprise, and we hope you like what we’ve come up with. The shirt is available right now via Teespring for $19.99. Head over to the merch tab and click on the PCD West Shirt! It won’t be available forever, so get it while you can!

Oh yeah. If you liked our shirts we gave out at our PAX East panel, those will also be sold for $19.99 for the remainder of the 2018 season! The design is not tied to an event, so it works perfectly as a classic tee to show off anytime, anywhere. They can be found on the merch tab. If you forgot what they look like, you can find em over there. See you at PAX West!
